The Scriptures cited below give a very interesting story how Jacob blessed his sons.

Gen 48:8-22, “When Israel saw Joseph’s sons, he said, “Who are these?” And Joseph said to his father, “They are my sons, whom God has given me here.” So he said, “Bring them to me, please, so that I may bless them.” Now the eyes of Israel were so dim from age that he could not see. And Joseph brought them close to him, and he kissed them and embraced them.

And Israel said to Joseph, “I never expected to see your face, and behold, God has let me see your children as well!” Then Joseph took them from his knees, and bowed with his face to the ground.

And Joseph took them both, Ephraim with his right hand toward Israel’s left, and Manasseh with his left hand toward Israel’s right, and brought them close to him. But Israel reached out his right hand and placed it on the head of Ephraim, who was the younger, and his left hand on Manasseh’s head, crossing his hands, although Manasseh was the firstborn. And he blessed Joseph, and said,
“The God before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, the God who has been my Shepherd all my life to this day, The Angel who has redeemed me from all evil, Bless the boys; and may my name live on in them, And the names of my fathers Abraham and Isaac;
And may they grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.” When Joseph saw that his father placed his right hand on Ephraim’s head, it displeased him; and he grasped his father’s hand to move it from Ephraim’s head to Manasseh’s head. And Joseph said to his father, “Not so, my father, for this one is the firstborn. Place your right hand on his head.” But his father refused and said, “I know, my son, I know; he also will become a people and he also will be great. However, his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his descendants shall become a multitude of nations.”

So he blessed them that day, saying, “By you Israel will pronounce

blessing, saying, ‘May God make you like Ephraim and Manasseh!’ And so he put Ephraim before Manasseh. Then Israel said to Joseph, “Behold, I am about to die, but God will be with you, and bring you back to the land of your fathers. And I give you one portion more than your brothers, which I took from the hand of the Amorite with my sword and my bow.”

From the Scriptures cited above, we learn some important lessons:

(1). Jacob was in a position to bless his sons and grandsons.

(2). The eyes of Israel were so dim from age that he could not see. Israel was suffering what the modern medicine calls cataract. Of course there was no cataract surgery then. I had my cataract surgery for both eyes some years ago in Shanghai.

“A cataract is a clouding of the normally clear lens of the eye. For people who have cataracts, seeing through cloudy lenses is a bit like looking through a frosty or fogged-up window. Clouded vision caused by cataracts can make it more difficult to read, drive a car (especially at night) or see the expression on a friend's face. Most cataracts develop slowly and don't disturb your eyesight early on. But with time, cataracts will eventually interfere with your vision. At first, stronger lighting and eyeglasses can help you deal with cataracts. But if impaired vision interferes with your usual activities, you might need cataract surgery. Fortunately, cataract surgery is generally a safe, effective procedure.”

Years ago in Shanghai I had my cataract surgery for both eyes at the high cost of CNY ¥12,000, which costs ¥20,000 today (2022). The female Chinese surgeon assured me the cataract would not grow back and won’t have any problem. Later my eyes had problems, it was diagnosed as Conjunctivitis by specialist and used the prescribed eye drops. But my eyes got worse and worse and almost lost one eye-sight. Finally going back to the same hospital another eye surgeon diagnosed it as “post cataract” which I had never even heard of it before. Another eye surgeon used laser to perform another surgery. Since then I can see better and still use a certain eye drops daily. A old Chinese woman told me because she had government medical insurance she had to pay only ¥70 for which I who had no government insurance paid ¥12,000.

(3). I never expected. God’s special mercy and blessings go far beyond His children can expect. Every child of God can testify something that they never expected in their lives, but the mercy of God did it.

(4). The important difference between right hand and left hand was indicated in the case of Ephraim and Manasseh both symbolically and efficaciously. This may be a warning to those who are left-handed. In addition the Lord divides mankind into two groups.

Mat 25:31-34, “But when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne.

“And all the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, just as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats;

and He will put the sheep on His right, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.”

Mat 25:41, “Then He will also say to those on His left, ‘Depart from Me, you accursed people, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels.”

You can become the sheep of the Lord on His right by repentance of your sins and believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, as your Lord and Savior. Those on the Lord’s right are blessed of the Heavenly Father. Those on the Lord’s left are accursed people and suffer eternal fire with the devil and his agents.

I am sure the political rights and lefts in America have nothing to do with your position in Jesus Christ. American political rights do not go to Heaven and American political lefts will certainly go to Hell. Both Democrats and Republicans, no matter political rights or lefts, if they do not repent and believe, will go to Hell.

(5). God had been the Shepherd of Jacob all his life. I am an old man now although not as old as Jacob, I can also say God has been my Shepherd to this day. Without the Lord, I would have gone astray many times. I can testify to the truth that God is able to work all things together for good of His children.

(6). I know, my son, I know.

God treats Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob quite differently from all others. Jacob gave Joseph one portion more of blessings than his brothers. Jacob had power and knowledge that all others do not have. The smartest scientists do not have one bit of prophetic knowledge. Preeminence does not always go to the firstborn.

The names of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob live on even in the Kingdom of Heaven. The names of the wicked and evildoers will no longer be remembered. There are so many ignorant fathers, blessed are you to have a father who knows best.

IV. BLESSINGS MUST BE APPROPRIATE TO INDIVIDUALS

Gen 48:19, “But his father refused and said, “I know, my son, I know; he also will become a people and he also will be great. However, his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his descendants shall become a multitude of nations.”

Jacob was no ordinary man, God is called the God of Jacob. Jacob knew something that his son Joseph did not know. It is comforting if your father knows best. Many human fathers know actually nothing.

Gen 49:28, “All these are the twelve tribes of Israel, and this is what their father said to them when he blessed them. He blessed them, every one with the blessing appropriate to him.”

This Scripture reveals something very important. Israel blessing his twelve sons, every one with the blessing appropriate to him. Another truth that many do not know: blessings must be appropriate. It is not appropriate to bless the greedy, corrupt, powerful, rich and crooked. The blessing of a slave cannot be greater than his master. The blessing of a student cannot be greater than the teacher.

Jacob blessed his 12 sons; he blessed them, every one with the blessing appropriate to him.

Gen 49:1-28, “Then Jacob summoned his sons and said, “Assemble yourselves, so that I may tell you what will happen to you in the days to come.

“Gather together and listen, sons of Jacob;
Yes, listen to Israel your father.

“Reuben, you are my firstborn,
My might and the beginning of my strength,
Preeminent in dignity and preeminent in power.

Uncontrollable as water, you shall not have preeminence, because you went up to your father’s bed; then you defiled it—he went up to my couch. Simeon and Levi are brothers;
Their swords are implements of violence.

“May my soul not enter into their council;
May my glory not be united with their assembly;
For in their anger they killed men,
And in their self-will they lamed oxen.

“Cursed be their anger, for it is fierce;
And their wrath, for it is cruel.
I will scatter them in Jacob,
And disperse them among Israel.

“As for you, Judah, your brothers shall praise you;
Your hand shall be on the neck of your enemies;
Your father’s sons shall bow down to you.

“Judah is a lion’s cub;
From the prey, my son, you have gone up.
He crouches, he lies down as a lion,
And as a lion, who dares to stir him up?

“The scepter will not depart from Judah,
Nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet,
Until Shiloh comes,
And to him shall be the obedience of the peoples.

“He ties his foal to the vine,
And his donkey’s colt to the choice vine;
He washes his garments in wine,
And his robes in the blood of grapes.

“His eyes are dull from wine,
And his teeth white from milk.

“Zebulun will reside at the seashore;
And he shall be a harbor for ships,
And his flank shall be toward Sidon.

“Issachar is a strong donkey,
Lying down between the sheepfolds.

“When he saw that a resting place was good
And that the land was pleasant,
He bowed his shoulder to carry burdens,
And became a slave at forced labor.

“Dan shall judge his people,
As one of the tribes of Israel.

“Dan shall be a serpent in the way,
A horned viper in the path,
That bites the horse’s heels,
So that its rider falls backward.

“For Your salvation I wait, LORD.

“As for Gad, a band of raiders shall attack him,
But he will attack at their heels.

“As for Asher, his food shall be rich,
And he will yield royal delicacies.

“Naphtali is a doe let loose;
He utters beautiful words.

“Joseph is a fruitful branch,
A fruitful branch by a spring;
Its branches hang over a wall.

“The archers provoked him,
And shot at him and were hostile toward him;

But his bow remained firm,
And his arms were agile,
From the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob
(From there is the Shepherd, the Stone of Israel),

From the God of your father who helps you,
And by the Almighty who blesses you
With blessings of Heaven above,
Blessings of the deep that lies beneath,
Blessings of the breasts and of the womb.

“The blessings of your father
Have surpassed the blessings of my ancestors
Up to the furthest boundary of the everlasting hills;
May they be on the head of Joseph,
And on the top of the head of the one distinguished among his brothers.

“Benjamin is a ravenous wolf;
In the morning he devours the prey,
And in the evening he divides the spoils.”

All these are the twelve tribes of Israel, and this is what their father said to them when he blessed them. He blessed them, every one with the blessing appropriate to him.”

The smartest scientists and philosophers know nothing in the days to come. Christians can rest assured God knows what is going to happen and will bring us safely to the Kingdom of Heaven.

V. EXAMPLES OF BLESSINGS

Gen 12:2, “And I will make you into a great nation,
And I will bless you, And make your name great;
And you shall be a blessing.”

In the beginning, to be a great nation was something.

To make one name great is still something.

Gen 28:4, “May He also give you the blessing of Abraham, to you and to your descendants with you, so that you may possess the land where you live as a stranger, which God gave to Abraham.”

Some 4,000 years ago God gave the land to Abraham and his descendants, Palestinians, Arabs and Hams want to possess the Jewish land. Palestinians, Arabs and Hamas have nothing to do with the blessing of Abraham; so the sooner they get out of the Jewish land the better.

Gen 39:5, “It came about that from the time he made him overseer in his house and over all that he owned, the LORD blessed the Egyptian's house on account of Joseph; so the LORD'S blessing was upon all that he owned, in the house and in the field.”

This is interesting. God blessed the Egyptian’s house on account of Joseph. Because God wants to bless someone, and for that reason those who are related to that someone may be blessed too.

Psa 144:15, “Blessed are the people who are so situated; Blessed are the people whose God is the LORD!”

This is the truth: Blessed are the people whose God is the Lord. But do you know any people whose God is the Lord today? Definitely not America or Europe.

Psa 146:5, “Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD his God.”

No matter who you are, there is no hope in the world. How is that? You are every day closer to the day of your death. Without God is without hope. The world only gives false hope -- whoever you are!

In comparison, Christians have hope:

Rom 5:2, “through whom we also have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we celebrate in hope of the glory of God.”

Christians by faith stand into grace, and we celebrate in hope of the glory of God.

Isa 30:18, “Therefore the LORD longs to be gracious to you, and therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you. For the LORD is the God of justice;
How blessed are all those who long for Him.”

Long in Hebrew is ḥāḵâ which means to wait; to wait for; to long for; to feel a strong desire for something; - which occurs 14 times in the Old Testament. If there is no justice in your country; if you cannot rely on your government to administer justice. Do not worry. God is your last resort. The Lord God is the God of justice, how blessed are all those who long for Him. How I long for the God of justice, because the rich and powerful is defrauding me and abusing me.

Deu 28:4, “Blessed will be the children of your womb, the produce of your ground, and the offspring of your animals: the newborn of your herd and the young of your flock.”

It is a great blessing that you wish some one blessed will be the children of their womb. Nowadays most people do not produce their ground, do not have animals whether herd or flock. You may wish blessing on their jobs and their families.

Deu 28:5, “Blessed will be your basket and your kneading bowl.”

This is the old-fashioned way of wishing the blessing that someone has plenty of food. The high cost of food and famine in many places make this blessing important and desirable.

Deu 28:6, “Blessed will you be when you come in, and blessed will you be when you go out.”

This is the old-fashioned way of wishing the blessing on someone going well in everything and prospering in whatever they are doing.

Mat 16:17, “And Jesus said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Barjona, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but My Father who is in Heaven.”

Everyone and anyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God is blessed because this revelation is from our Father who is in Heaven. You know there are philosophers and scientists who do not have this revelation.

Jas 1:12, “Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.”

In this world, every Christian is under trial. What we must do is to persevere. To persevere in Greek is hypomenō which means to endure; suffer; take patiently; bear bravely and calmly; under misfortunes and trials to hold fast to one's faith in Christ (Strong’s Concordance); have fortitude; remain; persist; carry on; - which occurs 17 times in the New Testament. If we persevere, we will receive the crown of life.

Tit 2:13, “looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus.”

I have been young, now I am old. If you think you have hope in this world, you will be sorely disappointed. No matter what happens in this world, be it war, conflict, unrest, disaster, destruction -- we Christians are looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus.

VI. HOW TO WISH BLESSINGS

Gen 9:27, “May God enlarge Japheth,
And may he live in the tents of Shem;
And may Canaan be his servant.”

May God enlarge you and you will never be a servant of anyone.

Gen 27:28, “Now may God give you of the dew of Heaven, and of the fatness of the earth, and an abundance of grain and new wine.”

This was the way to wish blessing on a farmer. Nowadays you can wish someone going well in his business or his career.

Gen 28:3, “May God Almighty bless you and make you fruitful and multiply you, so that you may become a multitude of peoples.”

This was how Isaac blessed Jacob. Nowadays you may wish blessing on someone having healthy and happy family.

Gen 43:29, “And as he raised his eyes and saw his brother Benjamin, his mother's son, he said, “Is this your youngest brother, of whom you spoke to me?” Then he said, “May God be gracious to you, my son.”

This was the response of Joseph seeing his younger brother Benjamin the first time after many years of separation. It would be appropriate for an elderly man to say to a young person, “May God be gracious to you, my son.”

Gen 48:20, “So he blessed them that day, saying,
“By you Israel will pronounce blessing, saying,
‘May God make you like Ephraim and Manasseh!'”
And so he put Ephraim before Manasseh.”

When a young man is getting married, it is appropriate to wish him blessing, “May God make you like Ephraim and Manasseh!”

Heb 4:16, “Therefore let's approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace for help at the time of

our need.”

We may wish blessing to our brothers and sisters that they may receive mercy and find grace for help at the time of their need.

1Pe 1:2, “according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, by the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to obey Jesus Christ and be sprinkled with His blood: May grace and peace be multiplied to you.”

We may wish blessing to any brother or sister, “May grace and peace be multiplied to you.” Our God is not only all-knowing, God has foreknowledge. God knows what is going to happen ahead of time, and so God controls whatever comes to pass; so that we receive mercy and find grace for help at the time of our need. Our needs are so great in this world, may God have mercy on us all.

3Jo 1:2, “Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may

prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers.”

We may pray and wish blessing on any believer that in all respects he or she may prosper and be in good health, just as his/her soul prospers.

Psa 70:4, “May all who seek You rejoice and be glad in You;
And may those who love Your salvation say continually,
“May God be exalted!”

We wish Christians everywhere who seek God rejoice and be glad in God; and may those who love God’s salvation say continually, May God be exalted!

VII. JESUS’ BLESSED

Jesus’s BLESSED….

(1). Mat 5:3, “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.”

Blessed in Greek is makarios which means happy; happier; supremely blest; fortunate; well off; enjoying the bliss of Heaven; bringing good fortune; - which occurs 50 times in the New Testament.

Poor in spirit means lacking anything and humble. It is difficult for the rich to enter the Kingdom of God because they do not feel they lack anything, and the rich are usually arrogant. Once I told a garbage collector, the world has no justice, believe in Jesus Christ and you can inherit the Kingdom of Heaven.

(2). Mat 5:4, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.”

To mourn in Greek is pentheō which means to wail; lament; grieve; - which occurs 10 times in the New Testament. Injustice will make people mourn. Persecution will make Christians mourn. Discrimination will make people mourn. Persecution makes people mourn. Oppression makes people mourn. Why those who mourn are blessed? They will be comforted.

(3). Mat 5:5, “Blessed are the gentle, for they will inherit the earth.”

Gentle in Greek is praus which means meek; mild; humble; (Meekness toward God is that disposition of spirit in which we accept His dealings with us as good, and therefore without disputing or resisting. In the OT, the meek are those wholly relying on God rather than their own strength to defend against injustice. Thus, meekness toward evil people means knowing God is permitting the injuries they inflict, that He is using them to purify His elect, and that He will deliver His elect in His time (Isa 41:17, Luk 18:1-8). Gentleness or meekness is the opposite to self-assertiveness and self-interest. It stems from trust in God's goodness and control over the situation. The gentle person is not occupied with self at all. This is a work of the Holy Spirit, not of the human will (Gal 5:23) Strong’s Concordance; - which occurs 3 times in the New Testament.

(4). Mat 5:6, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied.”

It is necessary to say, do not misunderstand Jesus, who never says, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst, for they will be satisfied.” Be careful, Jesus says, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied.” I was young, now I am old. Most people hunger and thirst for money. More people hunger and thirst for power than for knowledge. And there are many who hunger and thirst for food. If you do not believe me. Make a great hall with the sign “Free Food and Drink”. You will need police to maintain law and order because there will not be enough seats for the crowds. Very few people hunger and thirst for truth or righteousness.

There are nations and peoples who habitually hunger for food and thirst for water. Some due to reasons beyond their control like natural disasters. Some nations and peoples enjoy making human disasters such as official corruption, civil wars, military coups, political unrest, economic disasters, financial deficits and debts and insolvency, overpopulation, under productivity, laziness, gluttonousness, promiscuity, sexual immorality, etc. The United Nations should not send troops to maintain peace in nations which like civil wars, riots and looting. The United Nations should not give aid to nations and peoples who do not want to help themselves. The United Nations can watch the aftermath, and only gives assistance to nations and peoples agree to accept aid condition.

(5). Mat 5:7, “Blessed are the merciful, for they will receive mercy.”

Merciful in Greek is eleēmōn which means compassionate; full of mercy; forbearing; kindhearted; pitying; - which occurs 2 times in the New Testament. Why? The merciful will receive mercy. Is there anyone in the world who does not need mercy?

Lin Yutang was right when he said, “Today we are afraid of simple words like goodness and mercy and kindness. We don't believe in the good old words because we don't believe in good old values anymore. And that's why the world is sick.”

I agree with Charles Spurgeon who said, “I think that is a better thing than thanksgiving: thanks-living. How is this to be done? By a general cheerfulness of manner, by an obedience to the command of Him by whose mercy we live, by a perpetual, constant delighting of ourselves in the Lord, and by a submission of our desires to His will.

I can echo with Charles Dickens in saying, “I know I do not exaggerate, unconsciously and unintentionally, the scantiness of my resources and the difficulty of my life... I know that, but for the mercy of God, I might easily have been, for any care that was taken of me, a little robber or a vagabond.”

It was Apostle Paul who said, 1Co 15:10, “But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me did not prove vain; but I labored even more than all of them, yet not I, but the grace of God with me.”

Thomas Paine was right in saying, “I believe in the equality of man; and I believe that religious duties consist in doing justice, loving mercy, and endeavoring to make our fellow-creatures happy.”

Those who believe in racial superiority do not believe in mercy, do not love mercy, do not show mercy, and do not have mercy.

Everyone should pray the same prayer as Michael Servetus did, “Jesus, Son of the Eternal God, have mercy on me.”

I agree although I do not know Joe Kennedy III who said, “There is no mercy in a system that makes health care a luxury. There is no mercy in a country that turns their back on those most in need of protection: the elderly, the poor, the sick, and the suffering.” American healthcare not only is a luxury, it is a terrorism.

A Western supremacist was so wrong to say, “We shall show mercy, but we shall not ask for it.” Without the mercy of God, everyone will go to Hell.

I am humble before God and pray, “Lord, the eternal So of God, have mercy on me.” This reminds me of the parable of Jesus, Luk 18:9-14, “Also He spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:

“Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other men—extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector.

I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I possess.’ And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me a sinner!’ “I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.” That is why Jesus also says, Mat 21:31

“Which of the two did the will of his father?” They said, “The first.” Jesus said to them, “Truly I say to you that the tax collectors and prostitutes will get into the Kingdom of God before you.” Pimps and prostitutes must come to Jesus as sinners; but president and prime minister cannot come to Jesus as president and prime minister. Jesus Christ hates the hypocrites.

(6). Mat 5:8, “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

Pure in Greek is katharos which means clean; clear; blameless; innocent; unstained with the guilt of anything; free from corrupt desire (Strong’s Concordance); chaste; - which occurs 28 times in the New Testament. To be pure in heart is superior to be pure in word or deed. What is the greatest honor? The pure in heart will see God.

Pure in heart is the true purity. Innocence is not purity. A person may be innocent and not pure, a pure person is innocent. Someone is awful wrong in saying, “Purity is not innocence. It is much more. Purity is the outcome of sustained spiritual sympathy with God. We have to grow in purity.” If you think God needs sympathy, you know nothing. God is perfect, self-sufficient; He does not need anything or anyone. To be pure in heart enables one to be pure in mind, pure in words, and pure in deeds.

Parents who think that their children are pure have no knowledge of children. The cynical mask does not drop off in the face of purity, just like a liar does not drop off his mask in the face of the truth. God does not grant an audience to the great and mighty, the wealthy, the famous, the beautiful, and so forth. The pure in heart will see God.

A philosopher said, “I was in darkness, but I took three steps and found myself in paradise. The first step was a good thought, the second, a good word; and the third, a good deed.”

May I suggest, pure is above good.

(7). Mat 5:9, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.”

Peacemaker in Greek is eirēnopoios which means person who loves to make peace. Sadly, not one American and European leader or politician has the right to be called a peacemaker.

The first war led by the devil was fought in Heaven, the devil and his angels lost and the devil was cast into the earth, who is the ruler of the earth. European imperialists and colonialists for hundreds of years had fought wars of conquest and subdues nations and peoples in Asia, Africa and Latin America. The biggest problem of America is the fact that American leaders and politicians are never peacemakers, they are warmongers, aggressors, trouble-makers, evil doers from the beginning to this day. American and European leaders and politicians are sons of the devil who cause and create most of the problems in the world. Someone said, “War is what happens when language fails.” No. War is not what happens when language fails. War is what happens when evil heart succeeds. War is driven by aggression and domination. As long as some nation wants to dominate other nations there will be war. United Nations is not able to put down war, but the Prince of Peace will one day reign and end wars forever.

You see in the Ukrainian crisis, how many American allies and European and NATO nations like to send in more weapons and arms. That is to add fuel to the fire. Warmongers rejoice when war breaks out.

The famed Chinese strategist Sun Tzu advised nations to avoid war by this formula, “Appear weak when you are strong, and strong when you are weak.” The strategy may be outdated because nowadays your foe or enemy may know exactly how many aircraft carriers, war ships, war plans, and intercontinental missiles, etc. that you possess.

It was Ernest Hemingway who said, “Never think that war, no matter how necessary, nor how justified, is not a crime. ” I think it is necessary to call war a crime. I also suggest all military coups be considered rebellion or mutiny, and all military leaders be executed without appeal.

I cannot get hold of the data how wars have wasted human and monetary resources. War is destructive. Someone said wrongly, “Sometimes you have to pick the gun up to put the gun down.” Jesus says,

A military man told half the truth, “The military don’t start wars. Politicians start wars.” Some Australian soldiers enjoyed killing the civilians on the run.

Europeans and Americans and Japanese harbor the darkest desires of animosity, envy, hatred, ill will, and malice toward China since the infamous Opium Wars to the present. Yet they possess China’s national treasures amount to $100,000 trillion dollars in their museums, palaces, institutions and private collections through years robbery, looting and theft.

An unbeliever was so wrong to say, “Hating people is like burning down your own house to get rid of a rat.” China is no rat that the West hates so much. In fact, in the Western house, there are numerous domestic rats. The West desires to burn down the Chinese house. You know, the West does not need to love China. The West needs only to mind its own business and leave China alone. The West has irrational fear that China would be hegemonic like them and replace them to dominate the world. Apostle Paul said, 2Ti 3:12,

“Indeed, all who want to live in a godly way in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.”

Christians do not belong to this world, they live in a godly way in Christ Jesus, therefore they will be persecuted.

Citibank knows that I am old and poor and cannot afford a lawyer to sue them. Citibank is supposed to send consecutive monthly report (hard copy) to each customer. Citibank violates federal laws of record keeping, reporting and accounting. As of today (2/28/2022), Citibank failed to send me 5 months of report in 2020, 5 months of report in 2021, and 2 months (January and February) in 2022. Using non-business day as a phony excuse, Citibank failed to make two entries of my pension. Citibank ignored my repeated requests to change my beneficiary to my wife. Without complete consecutive monthly hard copy report, I cannot audit my account to know how much CITIBANK has defrauded me. Citibank forged electronic version to replace the monthly hard copy, the electronic version cannot be validated with the hard copies of report.

King Saul persecuted David out of jealousy and fear. Insult in Greek is oneidizō which means to revile; upbraid; reproach; cast in one’s teeth (Strong’s Concordance); defame; chide; taunt; rail at; affront; despise; hold in contempt; - which occurs 10 times in the New Testament.

I agree with Jean-Jacques Rousseau who said, “Insults are the arguments employed by those who are in the wrong.”

The rich and powerful usually like to insult people.

Luk 11:28, “But He said, “On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the Word of God and follow it.”

The Word of God is not just something to hear, you must follow it. Blessed are those who hear the Word of God and do it.

Luk 14:15, “Now when one of those who were reclining at the table with Him heard this, he said to Him, “Blessed is everyone who will eat bread in the Kingdom of God!”

What bread the children of God will eat in the Kingdom of Heaven? The Bread of Life.

Mat 11:6, “And blessed is any person who does not take offense at Me.”

To take offense in Greek is skandalizō which means to put a stumbling block or impediment in the way, upon which another may trip and fall, metaph. to offend (Strong’s Concordance); to be displeased; to cause difficulty or discomfort; upset; - which occurs 30 times in the New Testament. There is no reason you should take offense at the Personality of Jesus Christ neither His marvelous teachings. There is no divine offense. It is a glory to overlook a human offense.

Mat 13:16, “But blessed are your eyes, because they see; and your ears, because they hear.”

The early disciples of Jesus Christ their eyes were blessed to see the Son of God, and their ears were blessed to hear the Words of God. But Jesus also says, Jhn 20:29, “Jesus said to him, “Because you have seen Me, have you now believed? Blessed are they who did not see, and yet believed.”

We the Christians in the last days do not see and yet we believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. The days are coming that we will see the Lord face to face.

VIII. THE GREATEST BLESSINGS

Eph 1:3-23, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love He predestined us to adoption as sons and daughters through Jesus

Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, with which He favored us in the Beloved. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our wrongdoings, according to the riches of His grace which He lavished on us. The worldly seeks the earthly blessings of money, power and pleasure. Here the list of every spiritual blessing in the Heavenly places in Christ is full and boundless.

(1). He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world.

(2). Holy and blameless before Him.

(3). Adoption as sons and daughters.

(4). Have redemption through His blood.

(5). The forgiveness of our wrongdoings.

(6). The riches of His grace.

(7). In all wisdom and insight.

(8). Know the mystery of His will.

(9). Bring all things together in Christ.

(10). Have obtained an inheritance.

(11). The first to hope.

(12). Listened to the message of truth.

(13). Believed the gospel of salvation.

(14). Sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of the promise.

(15). The redemption of God’s own possession.

(16). Love for all the saints.

(17). The spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him.

(18). The eyes of your heart may be enlightened.

(19). The riches of the glory of His inheritance.

(20). The boundless greatness of His power.

(21). Not only in this age but also in the one to come.

(22). All things in subjection under His feet.

(23). The fullness of Him who fills all in all.

My brothers and sisters, please count all your blessings in Christ listed above which cannot be revoked. Whom and what God has blessed, no one can revoke it.

Dan 2:19, “Then the secret was revealed to Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of Heaven.”

Bless in Hebrew here is bᵊraḵ which means to kneel; praise; - which occurs 5 times in the Old Testament. Kneeling down on one’s knee to praise the Lord is the right posture.

Mat 16:17, “And Jesus said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Barjona, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but My Father who is in Heaven.”

Mat 16:16, “Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

To know Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God, is a revelation from the Father who is in Heaven.

Luk 6:20, “And He raised His eyes toward His disciples and began saying, “Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the Kingdom of God.”

People misunderstand that if you are poor, the Kingdom of God is yours. No, poor people do not automatically inherit the Kingdom of God. Poor people are easier to enter the Kingdom of God than the rich. To enter the Kingdom of God, the poor must repent and believe in Jesus Christ. Jesus speaks this Scripture to His disciples who were all poor, “Blessed are you who are poor, for yours in the Kingdom of God.”

Mat 25:34, “Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.”

The peoples of the world are divided into two groups: the children of God (believers) are on the right of Jesus the King, the children of the devil (wicked unbelievers) are on His left. To those on His right Jesus says, “Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.”

Luk 6:21, “Blessed are you who are hungry now, for you will be satisfied. Blessed are you who weep now, for you will laugh.”

There are Christians who are hungry now, they will be satisfied. There are believers who weep now, for they will laugh.

Act 20:35, “In everything I showed you that by working hard in this way you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.'”

For Christians working hard may help the weak. It is more blessed to give than to receive. Jesus does not mean those who are lazy, love eating and drinking and having sex. If you give to this group of people, you are not blessed but your money is wasted.

Jas 5:11, “We count those blessed who endured. You have heard of the endurance of Job and have seen the outcome of the Lord's dealings, that the Lord is full of compassion and is merciful.”

Christian who suffered and endured are blessed.

1Pe 3:14, “But even if you should suffer for the sake of righteousness, you are blessed. AND DO NOT FEAR THEIR INTIMIDATION, AND DO NOT BE IN DREAD.”

Even if Christians should suffer for the sake of righteousness, they are blessed. There is a wrong idea that if you become a Christian, you would not suffer in this world.

IN CONCLUSION

There are no people who are more blessed than the children of God. I would not trade being a son of God to become a son of the richest and most powerful man in the world. I would not trade being a son of God to becoming a son of the most powerful and richest king or queen of this world.

God is my Rock, so I do not fear their intimidation, and do not be in dread. My Redeemer lives forever, so I will also live forever. Our Lord Jesus Christ is coming again to judge the world and reign with the saints forever and ever in the Kingdom of Heaven. Our spiritual and heavenly blessings in Christ are eternal. There is nothing can be compared with the inheritance in Jesus Christ.

The things or so-called blessings in the world are passing away. The riches and power of the kingdoms of this world are passing away.

Mat 28:20, “teaching them to follow all that I commanded you; and behold, I am with you always, to the end of the world.”

Even if Christian should suffer for righteousness, behold, the Lord is with us always, to the end of the world.

Divine blessings are unlike human blessings. Divine blessings are genuine, without harm, without ulterior motive. Two frauds stand out in my memory. One was concerned with free grammar. I was seduced by free grammar, not knowing they would possess and control your computer, and it was hard to get rid of it once they got into your commuter. Beware of anything free offer, they might make an offer like organized crime, a deal you cannot refuse. The other was free website. So many on the Internet by advertising offering absolute free websites. But those are actually lies and frauds. They are businesses without shame. Once they baited you in, they started to charge you how much by monthly. Divine blessings are the true Word of God, they are all for your own good and eternal in nature.

Luk 6:23, “Rejoice on that day and jump for joy, for behold, your reward is great in Heaven. For their fathers used to treat the prophets the same way.”

When people are so happy, they jump for joy.

Jhn 1:29, “The next day he saw Jesus coming to him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!”

If you have not been saved, today is the day of salvation, ask Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, to take away your sins.

Jas 5:9, “Do not complain, brothers and sisters, against one another, so that you may not be judged; behold, the Judge is standing right at the door.”

Someone wrote, “The second coming of Christ will be so revolutionary that it will change every aspect of life on this planet. Christ will reign in righteousness. Disease will be arrested. Death will be modified. War will be abolished. Nature will be changed. Man will live as it was originally intended he should live.” Partial truths are most misleading.

The second coming of Christ is not revolutionary, it is a new beginning in the whole universe. Disease will not be arrested but totally eliminated. Death will not be modified but done away with for good. Christians cannot die anymore. War will not be abolished but vanished. Nature will be restored.

Rev 3:20, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.”

The Lord Jesus is standing at the door of your heart and knock; will you open your heart and receive Him as your Lord and Savior?

A RESPONSE TO POMPEO’s POMPOUS SPEECH AT THE NIXON LIBRARY.

1. Pompeo is a warmonger, and a true betrayer of the peace policy of President Richard Nixon.

YES. “U.S. engagement with China is a dismal failure,” not because President Nixon’s grand China policy was a failure; but because all the successors of President Nixon did not and do not follow his step in seeking a “just and lasting peace” for the world. All Nixon’s successors, both Democratic and Republican presidents, and American politicians of both parties have relentlessly and persistently sought “absolute military supremacy in order to have world dictatorship and domination.” The American president and politicians, without doubt, want to continuously dictate and dominate the world. They threaten other nations with their strongest military power and largest nuclear weapons. That was not Nixon’s policy. They maintain and reinforce America as the sole evil empire in the world, no more a Republic. What the former presidents and current president have been doing since Nixon are an open book, although they may shamelessly lie, misrepresent and distort history. For they are expert in deception. The former president is a demagogue, proven shameless liar, and a warmonger. He is a disgrace to the Republican Party, to America, to all patriotic Americans. There is no need to provide all the facts and evidence of his evil deeds and schemes, they will be voluminous and encyclopedic. All you have to do is to watch the news on TV. American mass media are deliberately making so much fake and false news and they are hostile and biased against China, Russia, etc. There is no doubt, American president and politicians are leading America to the wrong path and to the path of self-destruction. They are oppressing peoples of Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria, Venezuela, etc., and they can rise up to testify to the American war atrocities, injustice, and brutality. Millions of refugees can also rise up to testify against the American evil empire which has been established by American presidents and politicians since Nixon. Who are responsible for making America the most hated nation on earth. Why Japanese citizens do not want America to have military bases in Japan? Why Koreans do not want American military bases in Korea? Why Germany said No to America?

The United Nations, the members of the United Nations, most reputable international institutions, and all nations of the world oppressed by the Axis of Evil led by America (excluding Japan, Australia, Canada, UK, EU, NATO, etc.) can testify what the American government has done since Nixon. They can also testify what China has done since Nixon. The only nation on earth which has lifted up 750 million Chinese from poverty is China. The poor and backward country has become the second largest economy in the world by hard work and thrift. In comparison, the population of poor Americans has increased a great deal since Nixon. The Nixon era was the golden age of American history. In the last 40 years China has achieved most spectacular successes in all fields and fronts than any nation on earth. China has aided more than 100 nations without strings attached. Out of envy and jealousy, American presidents and politicians as well as European politicians target and treat China as an enemy. n European and Asian allies? Now America stands alone in the world in spite of its military might.

3. Since Nixon’s trip to China, American presidents and politicians have attacked and engaged in numerous unjust wars and bloody military interventions to this day. Since Nixon, China has not attacked or occupied one single nation. On the contrary China has aided more than 100 nations in many ways, and most recently in helping many nations to fight against the CORONAVIRUS pandemic which the Pompous Pompeo and other politicians falsely accused China of inventing and spreading of the COVID-19. These malicious accusers have been discredited and denied by large group of impeccable international scientists and specialists. Why to call on nations to induce change in the Chinese government when Beijing’s actions never threaten Americans and our prosperity? China has never threatened the security and prosperity of any nation or its people. In fact, China trade has contributed greatly and tremendously to American prosperity. Why Chinese tourists are most welcome by all capitalistic nations? American farmers, retail business and others can testify to the benefit of China trade. China has changed for the better is the truth no honest man can deny. Ask most Americans has America changed for the worse since Nixon? This is a well-known fact for the whole world to see. Can America change from an evil empire back to a respectable Republic?

American model of democracy has failed so miserably that a great number of Americans express their disapproval and disappointment in protests and demonstrations across the nation since the public murder of a black suspect by a white policeman televised life on TV. Ask yourself if American democracy is good and right, why so many Americans protest and demonstrate in demanding justice, equality and true freedom? Why does the American income disparity become the largest gap in the world? When one percent of population rules over the ninety nine percent, do you call it democracy and freedom? When presidents and politicians incur the largest deficits and debts in the world, is that demonstrating America succeeding? How can there be unrest on American streets in so many cities across America if the American democracy is a glorious success? Why does the Homeland Security powers turn against Americans? Why chaos and terrorism in Hong Kong is a shining scene, but chaos and terrorism in America is not? Why do most Americans think China has done well to protect its people from CORONAVIRUS pandemic, while most Americans do not believe their government has done a good job in protecting Americans?

5. Be honest, and study history. You will find out Western powers, Great Britain, Canada, Australia, Japan, and the United States have wronged China too many times since the infamous Opium Wars. Strangest phenomenon is the recent facts, that America, United Kingdom, Australia, Taiwan, etc. have planned and funded some young Chinese traitors and terrorists to create riots and terrorism in Hong Kong. Those Chinese terrorists killed, burned, looted, bombed, robbed, smashed doors and windows of public and private properties, created obstacles in public transportation, attacked and wounded police force, caused chaos, lawlessness, fear and unrest among Hong Kong

residents and businesses for more than a year; the former U.S. presidents and current president and American and European politicians called those riots in Hong Kong a fight for freedom and cheered and applauded those anarchists and criminals.

Now that China has enacted a national security law to protect Hong Kong and its sovereignty, the evil legacy of British empire which never practiced democracy or freedom in its colonies, America, and others hypocritically say that Hong Kong is losing democracy and freedom. America, UK, Australia, EU, Canada, etc. have violated the sovereignty of China and interfered in China’s internal affairs without shame or reason.

In comparison with the recent demonstrations and protests conducted by Americans across the country after a black man was killed in public on TV by a white policeman and with Hong Kong riots; the City of Portland is a case in point. The mayor was among the crowds hit by tear gas. The federal agents are armed well like the military. The current president calls those American protesters “thugs”, “terrorists”, “anarchists”, etc. Well are they not American freedom fighters all over the country? When terrorists did evil in Hong Kong Western politicians called them freedom fighters. When Americans protest and demonstrate against injustice and government corruption they are called thugs, terrorists and anarchists.

This double standard and duplicity would even embarrass the devil.

6. The United States is the only nation which is having military bases all over the world to target China and Russia with the largest quantity of weapons of mass destruction. America is daily conducting military exercises and operations in China’s and Russian air space and territorial waters threatening the peace and stability of the world, how is that they call it China threat and Russia threat? No China plane or warship ever get close to American east and west coast. The increasing provocative and oppressive military, diplomatic, trade, economic, financial, technological, etc. actions against China and Russia, etc. loom large in the horizon that an all out nuclear war is preparing and leading by the United States.

Can any honest, conscientious, and patriotic American say such American engagement is good for America and good to the world? Do you see American president and politicians are committing suicide by leading America and the world to the brink of total destruction? Who has the truth and standing in the truth? Let the God of Righteousness be the Judge, and let Americans have the right to form their own opinion without fear or retaliation. Do Americans want an Imperial America or a respected Republic?

7. Jesus says, Mat 12:36, “But I tell you that every careless word that people speak, they shall give an accounting for it in the Day of Judgment.” The Day of Judgment is coming. How can European and American and Australian imperialists and colonialists and Japanese militarists give an accounting for what they have done to the world in the last 500 years or more in terms of genocide, massacre, mass slaughter, slave labor, sex slavery, robbery, burning, torture, looting, oppression, exploitation, occupation, etc. The Judge of the Living and Dead may ask American and European and Australian politicians about the so-called China virus, China threat, etc.

8. With boldness I predicted the incumbent will lose big in the November presidential election, not because his opponent is good (I will not vote for Biden), but because the great majority of American voters are disgusted and distressed with the wrong national policies, black lies, special interests that dominate America, incompetent leadership and dismal failures of the incumbent. What nations want to follow America except Japan, Australia, etc. which have their ulterior motive?

9. Let the oppressed nations and impoverished peoples of the world rise up to form a New World Order. A New World Order where the days of white supremacy rule are numbered and over. A New Word Order where unilateralism is discarded, where imperialism is dead and buried, where lies are on the run, and where multilateralism and justice will govern the world, and where nations and peoples will work together for the common good, for peace, progress and prosperity.

10. The West has enjoyed power and wealth for the last 500 years. The whole world knows that Western democracy and freedom are big lies. What the United States and its allies are most afraid of is soon China will become the world number one economy and the Chinese citizens continuously enjoy so many rights and privileges, the world will naturally think the American model of government is a dismal failure, and that the Chinese model of government is the apparent great success that the whole world can see before their eyes. Consequently, the new world order has peacefully overthrown the Western supremacy and begun a new age where each nation big or small may decide which model they want to adopt and which system of government they feel comfortable to live under. The days of Western aggression and domination are over!!!
