I have met millions of peoples in the world, some of the finest. One mother impressed me very much. She was the wife of the Spanish Consul in Copenhagen years ago. Cleave in Greek is  proskollaō   which means to glue to, glue upon, join one's self to closely, stick to; - it occurs only 4 times in the New Testament. The concept of sticking to one wife precludes adultery or divorce. The man shall leave his father and mother behind because he is starting a new life.  

Eph 5:31, “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh." One flesh suggests the most intimate relationship. Marriage is the most intimate relationship between a man and a woman. Parents, stay behind your son and daughter. Do not interfere with their marital relationship. The idea of marriage between a man and a man, a woman and a woman is unnatural, un-Scriptural, diabolical, and condemned by God. For in the beginning God created Adam and created Eve for his mate.  Although the U.S. Supreme Court legalized same-sex marriage, God condemns it. The U.S. presidents and judges who promote and legalize homosexuality and same-sex marriage will face the Judgment of God.

America has become a strange and weird nation that some states have legalized same-sex marriage.  Obama is the first American president who publicly endorsed homosexuality and supported same-sex marriage. Man shall be joined to man as husband and wife, and woman shall be joined to woman as husband and wife. Is there anything more ludicrous and ridiculous than a practice which is against nature? There is nothing so blind and confused and sinful as same-sex marriage. It is not an issue of marriage equality, it is an issue of doing against nature, the abnormal human behavior surely will destroy the nation and society. The biggest blunder is to confuse what is with what is not. A man is a man, a woman is a woman. A man is not a woman, and a woman is not a man. A man is to be a husband, and a woman is to be a wife. What is cannot and must not be confused with what is not. 

2.    She was the mother of all the living. 

Gen 3:20 , “The man called his wife's name Eve, because she was the mother of all living.” 

Note: The word “Eve” in Hebrew is  Chavvah which means the first woman being the mother of all living; - it occurs only 4 times in the Bible, 2 times in the Old Testament, and 2 times in the New Testament. Every human being is born of a mother, not through evolution.  In the beginning God created man and woman, male and female.

1Ti 2:13 , “For Adam was formed first, then Eve.” This Scripture might not please feminists, but that was the way it is. God created Adam first, then Eve. That was the order. A woman who wants to lead her husband or be the head of the house is not going to be happy. Anything that violates the order of God will not have good result.  

Gen 4:1 , “Now Adam knew Eve his wife, and she conceived and bore Cain, saying: I have gotten a man with the help of the Lord." Although God made a woman fit for childbearing, a woman can learn from Eve. Eve acknowledged that she got pregnant and had gotten a boy with the help of the Lord.  

2Cr 11:3 , “But I am afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts will be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ.” Although the Bible does not explain why, somehow women are more easily deceived or led astray. All godly women should guard against vanity. The devil is cunning; he deceives and leads people astray. Anything that leads you astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ is from the devil. 

3.   She shall be a mother of nations. 

Gen 17:16 , “I will bless her (Sarah), and indeed I will give you a son by her. Then I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of peoples will come from her.” 

Gen 17:15 , “Then God said to Abraham: As for Sarai your wife, you shall not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall be her name.” 

Note: Abraham’s wife was called Sarai, but God changed her name into Sarah. Sarai in Hebrew is  Saray  which means princess, original name of Sarah the wife of Abram or Abraham; - it occurs about 17 times in the Old Testament. Sarah in Hebrew is  Sarah  which means a noblewoman, a noble lady; - it occurs about 38 times in the Old Testament. In Greek it is  Sarra  which means princess; - it occurs only 4 times in the New Testament. Sarah was a princess, a noble lady, one of the noblest women in the Bible and in human history. 

Rom 4:19 , “He did not weaken in faith when he considered his own body, which was as good as dead because he was about a hundred years old, or when he considered the barrenness of Sarah's womb.” 

Note: Faith is not blind belief. Abraham considered he was about a hundred years old and his 90 years’ old wife was barren ( Gen 17:17  ); however, the promise of God is stronger than any circumstance.  What God said will be accomplished.

Rom 9:9 , “For this is what the promise said: About this time I will return and Sarah shall have a son." How could a 90-year old woman conceive?  By the power of God.

Hbr 11:11, “By faith Sarah herself received power to conceive, even when she was past the age, since she considered Him faithful who had promised.” Sarah received the power to conceive from God who was faithful to His promise. How Sarah was noble?  

1Pe 3:6 , “As Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord. And you are now her children if you do right and let nothing terrify you.” Christian women are daughters of Sarah if they do right and obey their husbands. Do not be deceived by feminist movement and false teachings of men and women. 

4.  He also gave precious things to her brother and to her mother. 

Gen 24:53 , “The servant brought out articles of silver and articles of gold, and garments, and gave them to Rebecca; he also gave precious things to her brother and to her mother.” 

Note: Even in ancient times, the family which wanted to take a wife gave gifts of value to the girl’s mother. In evil cultures men kill their wives so that they can remarry and get more dowries. Those who marry for material reasons are doomed to failure and unhappiness. 

If you grow up to be a good man or a good woman, a good Christian, this is the most precious thing you can give to your mother.

5.  Isaac was comforted after his mother’s death. 

Gen 24:67 , “Then Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah's tent, and he took Rebecca, and she became his wife, and he loved her; thus Isaac was comforted after his mother's death.” 

Note:  The wife can comfort a man like no others. A man who takes a wife has duty to love her. Wife is the second most important woman in a man's life. What a wife can do to a man no other woman can do. Wife can comfort a man no other woman can. If you do not love the woman, you have no right to marry her. A mother is a mother, a wife is a wife; they have different roles. Comfort in Hebrew is  nacham    which means to console, have compassion, show pity; - it occurs about 108 times in the Old Testament. Woman has such a power to comfort her husband that no one else and nothing can. A man needs a woman’s love just as a woman needs a man’s love. When man and woman love each other, it is Heaven on earth in spite of all troubles. When you are young, you need a mother. When you are a man, you need a wife. Blessed is the man who finds a good wife, not necessarily a beautiful wife.  Remember Delilah, Jdg Chapter 16. Delilah in Hebrew is Dĕliylah which means feeble, weak, delicate, pining with desire who betrayed her husband Samson. Do not judge a woman by her good looks only.

6.    His mother said to him. 

Gen 27:13 , “But his mother said to him: Your curse be on me, my son; only obey my voice, and go, get {them} for me.” 

Note: How much influence a mother has on her children. How many men are ruined by listening to the wrong advice of their mothers? An indulgent mother may lead her children to do wrong. Remember Herodias who told her daughter to get the head of John the Baptist on a platter,  Mar 6:14-29 . Mothers, do not let what you do bring curses to your children. Sons and daughters do not listen to your mothers who order you to do wrong. There are many mothers who do not realize when they indulge their children is not to love them but to spoil them and destroy their future.  A bad mother has bitter consequences. You must obey your parents in the Lord. Chinese Christians, you cannot obey your parents to worship idols or your ancestors, or eat blood. To obey God is more important than to obey parents or any man.

7.  So the girl went and called the child’s mother. 

Exd 2:8 , “Pharaoh's daughter said to her: Go ahead. So the girl went and called the child's mother.” 

Note: The life of Moses demonstrated the sovereignty of God in a wonderful way. God arranged that the daughter of Pharaoh would pay for nursing of Moses by his own mother. God is able to turn the ill will of man to serve His good will. As the delightful poem by  William Cowper would say:   

God moves in a mysterious way 
His wonders to perform; 
He plants His footsteps in the sea, 
And rides upon the storm. 

8.  He who strikes his father or his mother shall surely be put to death. 

Exd 21:15 ,    “He who strikes his father or his mother shall surely be put to death.” 

Note: Under the Mosaic Law, striking parents is sin of death. Capital punishment was instituted by God for certain crimes or sins. Those who oppose capital punishment oppose God’s law. Those who oppose God’s law oppose God.  What about those who abandon their parents when they are old and poor?  I recall taking my mother to a Chinese restaurant near Disneyland. She told me she could not eat much now. So if you want to treat your parents nicely, do it while they are able. Old age has many problems.

9.  He who curses his father or his mother shall surely be put to death. 

Exd 21:17 , “He who curses his father or his mother shall surely be put to death.” 

Note: Under Mosaic Law, cursing of parents shall surely be put to death. 

10.  You are not to boil a young goat in the milk of its mother. 

Exd 23:19 , “You shall bring the choice first fruits of your soil into the house of the Lord your God. You are not to boil a young goat in the milk of its mother.” 

Exd 34:26 , “The first of the first fruits of your ground you shall bring to the house of the Lord your God. You shall not boil a kid in its mother's milk." 

Note: The prohibition is based on similar reason that you cannot have sex with the woman and her daughter.  

Lev 20:14 , “If a man takes a wife and her mother also, it is wickedness; they shall be burned with fire, both he and they, that there may be no wickedness among you.” Or similarly, you shall not take the mother with the young. 

Deu 22:6-7 , “If you chance to come upon a bird's nest, in any tree or on the ground, with young ones or eggs and the mother sitting upon the young or upon the eggs, you shall not take the mother with the young; you shall let the mother go, but the young you may take to yourself; that it may go well with you, and that you may live long.” Sufficient that you take the young, let the mother go. Excess is harmful. Greed is evil. 

11.  You shall not uncover...the nakedness of your mother. 

Lev 18:7 , “You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father, that is, the nakedness of your mother. She is your mother; you are not to uncover her nakedness.” 

Note: The practice of nudist camp with family nudism is clearly against this commandment. Physically and morally you shall not uncover the nakedness of your mother. You shall not shame your mother. 

12.   Deborah...a mother in Israel. 

Jdg 5:7 , “The peasantry ceased, they ceased in Israel, until I, Deborah, arose, until I arose, a mother in Israel.” 

Note: Deborah in Hebrew is  Dĕbowrah  which means a bee, a wasp; - it occurs about 10 times in the Old Testament. Deborah was a prophetess; she was a mother in Israel and a wasp to the enemies because she protected the children of Israel.  I remember the great Golda Meir was a mother in Israel.  A woman can be a great leader, too.

13.   He did not tell his father or mother what he had done. 

Jdg 14:6 , “The Spirit of the Lord came upon him mightily, so that he tore him as one tears a young goat though he had nothing in his hand; but he did not tell his father or mother what he had done.” 

Note: Adults may not have to tell their parents what they have done. Children because lack of knowledge and judgment should tell their parents everything. Especially young girls who have been raped by their father, relative, teacher, neighbor or friend. Parents must insure their daughters are not becoming sex victims of evil adults. What children do not know may hurt them.   Children were born stupid. 

14.   Return each of you to her mother’s house. 

Rth 1:8 , “And Naomi said to her two daughters-in-law: Go, return each of you to her mother's house. May the Lord deal kindly with you as you have dealt with the dead and with me.” 

Note: The story of Ruth is the most beautiful and blessed of a virtuous and beautiful woman who loved and was loved by her mother-in-law. There has never been such a loving and moving and harmonious mother-in-law and daughter-in-law relationship. It is the model for a thousand generations. To have a daughter-in-law like Ruth is better than to have seven sons. To have a wife like Ruth is better than Solomon who had a thousand wives. 

15.  How you left your father and your mother. 

Rth 2:11 , “Boaz replied to her: All that you have done for your mother-in-law after the death of your husband has been fully reported to me, and how you left your father and your mother and the land of your birth, and came to a people that you did not previously know.” 

Note: It is worth to leave father and mother for a young woman to be married to a worthy man. Ruth became a part of the Messianic genealogy. 

16.  His mother would make him a little robe. 

1Sa 2:19 , “And his mother would make him a little robe and bring it to him from year to year when she would come up with her husband to offer the yearly sacrifice.” 

Note: Hannah was Samuel’s good mother. Hannah did not live in vain for lending Samuel to the Lord. It is not old-fashioned, what would a mother do who cannot make her boy a little robe? Yes, she can buy from the store. However, there are many things that a mother can do for her children which cannot be purchased. The mother touch is what money cannot buy. 

17.  Please let my father and my mother come and stay with you. 

1Sa 22:3 , “And David went from there to Mizpah of Moab; and he said to the king of Moab: Please let my father and my mother come and stay with you until I know what God will do for me.” 

Note: David was filial, even in his most difficult time he made provision for his father and mother. Jesus made provision for Mary even on the cross of His last moment.  David would not run ahead of God, he waited until he knew what God would do for him. What you do cannot be more important than what God does.

18.  Ask, my mother, for I will not refuse you. 

1Ki 2:20 , “Then she said: I am making one small request of you; do not refuse me. And the king said to her: Ask, my mother, for I will not refuse you.” 

Note: It is wonderful if you can fulfill the request of your mother, provided she asks rightfully. You should treat your mother nicely while she is still alive. Do not refuse your mother if you are able to fulfill her request. My mother was so good that she never asked me anything. Even when I gave her money, she would think I needed money more than she did. Many Chinese parents are so wrong, they act and speak that their children owe them everything. Some parents are so stupid that they declare they gave lives to their children. How ignorant for a man and woman to have sex is to give life? Only God can give life. 

19.   She is his mother. 

1Ki 3:27 , “Then the king said: Give the first woman the living child, and by no means kill him. She is his mother.” 

Note: The wisdom of Solomon determined and judged that a true mother would not kill her child. Nowadays there are parents who kill their children to make insurance claims.

20.  He had taken him and brought him to his mother. 

2Ki 4:20 ,    “When he had taken him and brought him to his mother (the Shunammite), he sat on her lap until noon, and then died.” 

Note: What a moving scene to see that a boy sat and died on his mother’s lap! 

21.  His mother was his counselor to do wickedly. 

2Ch 22:3 , “He also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab, for his mother was his counselor to do wickedly.” 

Note: Your mother should be your counselor to do right and to do good. Ahaziah reigned in Judah, his mother Athaliah counseled him to do wickedly to his destruction. You have heard the infamous wife of a corrupt and disgraced politician who counseled her whole family, friends and relatives to do wickedly and fraudulently.    A good mother counsels her children to do good and right. The evil influence of a wicked mother is inestimable.  You do not have to obey your parents if they counsel you to do wickedly.

22.  Naked I came from my mother’s womb. 

Job 1:21  , “He said: Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked I shall return there. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord.” 

Cf.  Ecc 5:15, “As he came from his mother's womb, naked shall he return. He will take nothing from the fruit of his labor that he can carry away in his hand.” 

Note: Job made a famous statement of truth: Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I shall return there. Sadly, so many corrupt politicians, self-serving officials, crooked business executives, corrupt doctors and hospital owners and greedy capitalists have not learned the truth. They act as if they could carry all they have swindled and defrauded to their funeral. Some even think they were born with silver spoons in their mouths! Greedy capitalists and the richest man in the world, naked you came, naked you go.  Believe it or not!

23.  You made me feel safe while at my mother’s breasts. 

Psa 22:9, “Yet You are He who brought me out of the womb; You made me feel safe while at my mother's breasts.” 

Note: If you know something about obstetrics, you know there are many things that can go wrong: during pregnancy, delivery and post-delivery. It is a wonder that a child is born safe and sound. There is no place like a mother's breasts for an infant. 

24.   As one who sorrows for a mother. 

Psa 35:14 , “I went about as though it were my friend or brother; I bowed down mourning, as one who sorrows for a mother.” 

Note: Although I knew in my mind that my mother was advanced in years, it would not be a surprise if she should die anytime; however when she passed away I wept and mourned and cried for my mother as I never wept or mourned before. 

25.   In sin my mother conceived me. 

Psa 51:5 , “Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin my mother conceived me.” 

Note: This does not mean it is sinful for husband and wife to have sex and to conceive. Every person born of a woman was born in sin. Whether it is original sin or personal sin or both, every human being is sinful. The only person who was not conceived in sin was Jesus Christ, the Son of God; for Mary was conceived by the Holy Spirit. 

26.   As a joyful mother of children. 

Psa 113:9 , “He makes the barren woman abide in the house as a joyful mother of children. Praise the Lord!” 

Note: A man cannot know what it is to be a joyful mother of children, nor a barren woman. The joy of motherhood makes a woman complete. The sorrow of having a bad son or bad daughter is also unbearable. 

Someone wrote, “Motherhood is not a job. It is a joy.” I respond to the statement by saying: “Motherhood is a holy and joyful responsibility.” Those who take motherhood lightly and do not fulfill their responsibility are guilty and doomed to be failures. Those who take motherhood as a sacred task and joyfully fulfill their responsibility are blessed. What I am going to say may offend people: most of the mothers I have known or met do not satisfactorily fulfill their responsibility. There have been few Sarah (mother of Isaac), Hannah (mother of Samuel), Mary (mother of Jesus), and Elisabeth (mother of John the Baptist), etc.  

Pro 23:25,“Let your father and your   mother   be glad, and let her rejoice who gave birth to you.” Mary said something about Jesus that is immortal, 

Jhn 2:5 ,  “His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.” The person who said that he really has a problem with Jesus not being nice to His mother is a son of devil who does not know Jesus. One of the last things that Jesus did was to commit His mother to the care of John. The best advice Mary had said, "Whatever Jesus says to you, do it."

27.  Like a weaned child resting on his mother’s breast. 

Psa 131:2 , “Surely I have calmed and quieted my soul; like a weaned child resting on his mother’s breast, like a weaned child is my soul within me.” 

Note: There is no ideal or idyllic picture than that of a weaned child resting on his mother’s breast. It is humanity at its best and purest. America is the nation most obsessed with sex and sex organs. Women relish to wear in a way to expose their breasts. American sex culture has infected China so much as if Chinese women have just discovered their have breasts. Bras and breasts have become supreme concern of Chinese women as the media (TV and printed matter) has inundated the whole nation. 

28.  Do not forsake your mother’s teaching. 

Pro 1:8 , “Hear, my son, your father's instruction and do not forsake your mother's teaching.” 

Cf.  Pro 6:20 , “My son, keep your father's commandment, and forsake not your mother's teaching.” 

Note: It was the teaching of Mencius’ mother that made Mencius the great philosopher and teacher. The teaching of a good mother is more precious than gold and diamonds. I am eternally grateful for the godly influence of my mother on my life.

29.  A foolish son is a grief to his mother. 

Pro 10:1 , “The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son makes a father glad, but a foolish son is a grief to his mother.” 

Note: All stupid sons who smoke, drink, use drugs, live recklessly, have sex with prostitutes or bad women, and live prodigally are a grief to their mothers. The world is so evil there are today mothers who are happy to sell their daughters as prostitutes and their sons as crooks and criminals so long they have money. 

30.  A foolish man despises his mother. 

Pro 15:20 , “A wise son makes a father glad, but a foolish man despises his mother.” 

Note: If you despise your mother, you must be a foolish man. Only a foolish man would despise his mother.  It is a good man who loves his mother, and it is a wise man who respects his mother. Even if you are the richest and most powerful people on earth, if you despise your mother, you are certainly a foolish man. I told my students, if the president of the United States wanted to see me, I would bring my mother along. If I were with my mother, the mayor wanted to see me, I would tell him to wait.

31. He who...drives his mother away is a shameful and disgraceful son. 

Pro 19:26 , “He who assaults his father and drives his mother away is a shameful and disgraceful son.” 

Note: Mistreatment or abuse of your parents is the most shameful and disgraceful act. 

32. He who curses his father or his mother, his lamp will go out in time of darkness. 

Pro 20:20 , “He who curses his father or his mother, his lamp will go out in time of darkness.” 

Cf.  Pro 30:11, “There are those who curse their fathers and do not bless their mothers.” 

Note: When a person curses his father or mother, something dark and dire is going to happen to him. 

33. Do not despise your mother when she is old. 

Pro 23:22 , “Listen to your father who begot you, and do not despise your mother when she is old.” 

Note: It is cruel and ungrateful to despise your mother when she is old. Sons and daughters should take special care of their mothers when they are old. Make your mother happy before she dies. 

Do you know when a person gets old, she does not enjoy food that much. I took my mother to an excellent Chinese restaurant in California, but she could not enjoy that much. So take your mother to the best restaurant while she enjoys it.

34. Let your father and your mother be glad. 

Pro 23:25 , “Let your father and your mother be glad, and let her rejoice who gave birth to you.” 

Note: To honor your father and your mother is to make them glad. If you become somebody, your father and mother will be glad. If you achieve something great, your mother will rejoice and be proud of you. There are some mothers who are so bad because they say or do things that discourage and provoke their children.  There are evil mothers who sell their daughters as prostitutes.

35.  A child who gets his own way brings shame to his mother. 

Pro 29:15 , “The rod and reproof give wisdom, but a child who gets his own way brings shame to his mother.” 

Note: There are stupid mothers who think their job is to let their children have their own ways. They do not realize that an undisciplined child is a shame to his mother and a ruin to his future. Once I observed on a train back from Hangzhou, a five-year old girl slapped her mother in the face. Such a girl if not corrected and disciplined on time will bring shame to her mother. I have met so many bad mothers in the world who did not know how to educate their children.

36.  Like mother, like daughter. 

Eze 16:44 , “Behold, everyone who quotes proverbs will quote this proverb concerning you, saying: Like mother, like daughter.” 

Note: This is not only a powerful statement, it is a striking fact. A bad mother is likely to have a bad daughter. A filthy mother does not know how to rear clean and decent daughters.  An ignorant mother produces uneducated and undisciplined children. An irresponsible mother lets her children get into trouble. You should not marry the daughter of a bad woman.

37.  The wise men worshiped the Child. 

Mat 2:11, “After coming into the house they saw the Child with Mary His mother; and they fell to the ground and worshiped Him. Then, opening their treasures, they presented to Him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.” 

Note: Mother in Greek is  mētēr  which means a female parent; - it occurs about 85 times in the New Testament. Usually a mother is greater than her child. Do you notice in the case of Jesus it was different? The wise men from the East fell to the ground and worshiped the Child Jesus, not Mary His mother. The wise men also presented their gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh to the Child Jesus. Why? Because Jesus was the Son of God. Mary knew that she was conceived by the Holy Spirit. Roman Catholics are so stupid that they worship Mary and call her the mother of God. The Roman Catholic Church teaches a false doctrine by making Mary to be the mediator between God and men. Apparently, Catholic leaders are not as wise as the wise men from the East.  The Roman Catholic Church commits blasphemy by making Mary the Mother of God and calls her Holy Mother.  How can God have a mother? Mary was the Mother of Jesus, conceived by the Holy Spirit, as God became Man according to the flesh.  In the beginning Jesus was the Word, and the Word with God, and the Word was God. There is Holy Father, Holy Son, and the Holy Spirit, there is no such a thing called Holy Mother.

38.   Whoever does the will of My Father...he is My brother and sister and mother. 

Mat 12:50 , “For whoever does the will of My Father who is in Heaven, he is My brother and sister and mother.” 

Cf. Mar 3:35 , “Whoever does the will of God is My brother, and sister, and mother." 

Luk 8:21, “But he said to them: My mother and My brothers are those who hear the Word of God and do it." 

Note: To the Lord Jesus Christ, those who hear and do the Word of God are as dear as His brothers and sisters and mothers. Spiritual relationship supersedes human relationship.  Mind you, Jesus says whoever does the will of God is like His brother, sister, and mother. But not the Father who is One and only. 

39.  Prompted by her mother. 

Mat 14:8 , “Having been prompted by her mother, she said: Give me here on a platter the head of John the Baptist.” 

Note: The daughter of Herodias was prompted by her mother to ask for the head of John the Baptist which was worth more than half a kingdom. See how an adulterous and wicked mother may lead her children to do wickedly. To have no mother is better than to have a wicked mother. Be sure you are prompted by your mother to do good and to do right. The mother who prompted her daughters to be prostitutes is worse than animal.

40.  Honor your father and your mother. 

Mat 15:4-6 , “For God said: Honor your father and mother, and, he who speaks evil of father or mother is to be put to death. But you say: Whoever says to his father or mother: Whatever I have that would help you has been given to God, he is not to honor his father or his mother. And by this you invalidated the Word of God for the sake of your tradition.” 

Note: Tradition which is contrary to the Word of God is wrong tradition and should be discarded.  China used to have a tradition of honoring father and mother, in a greedy capitalistic society the virtue is disappearing. Parents sue their children for the crime of neglect.

Exd 20:12 , "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which the Lord your God gives you.” 

Note: The promise of this Scripture is obviously given to the children of Abraham. 

Deu 5:16 , “Honor your father and your mother, as the Lord your God commanded you; that your days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with you, in the land which the Lord your God gives you.” 

Mat 19:19 , “Honor your father and mother, and, you shall love your neighbor as yourself." 

Mar 7:10 , “For Moses said: Honor your father and your mother; and, he who speaks evil of father or mother, let him surely die.” 

Eph 6:2 ,    “Honor your father and mother (this is the first commandment with a promise),” 

Note: This is the Fifth Commandment with a promise. Human tradition is usually opposed to the Word of God. A Christian does not invalidate the Word of God for the sake of the tradition. For example, it is a tradition of Chinese people to worship their ancestors and eat blood. A Chinese Christian cannot follow this tradition. Idolatry or ancestor worship and eating blood offend the living God. Certainly, this Scripture includes all believers, children of Abraham, to be blessed with the promise of long life. 

Chinese civilization which stresses filial piety is close to the Biblical teaching of honoring your father and your mother. Honor in Hebrew is  kabad  which means to make honorable, glorify, do honor to; - it occurs about 116 times in the Old Testament. This is one of the Ten Commandments which gives a promise of longevity to people who honor their fathers and mothers.  However, as greed has captured the Chinese society, the traditional virtue is disappearing.

41. The mother of the sons of Zebedee came to Jesus...making a request of Him. 

Mat 20:20 , “Then the mother of the sons of Zebedee came to Jesus with her sons, bowing down and making a request of Him.” 

Note: There is nothing wrong for mothers to seek God’s favor for their children. How many mothers seek favors for their children for the wrong reasons? How often they do not know what they request.  Find out for yourself what the mother of the sons of Zebedee made the request. Do not seek what you do not deserve.

42.  His mother said...Whatever He says to you, do it. 

Jhn 2:5 , “His mother said to the servants: Whatever He says to you, do it.” 

Note: Mary did not write any book of the New Testament, but her advice to the servants is immortal. We must do whatever the Lord says. Whatever the Lord says to you, do it. 

43.  Standing by the cross of Jesus were His mother... 

Jhn 19:25 , “Therefore the soldiers did these things. But standing by the cross of Jesus were His mother, and His mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene.” 

Note: There are three immortal Mary (s): Mary the mother of Jesus, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. It is a good thing if your mother would stand by you even if the whole world misunderstood you. It is not easy to have someone stand by you when you are in trouble. This does not mean a mother should support her son’s crime or sin. It is a shame and disgrace when you often hear mothers say in America: My boy or my girl is not a bad person..., when they in fact committed murder or outrageous crime. 

44.  Behold, your mother. 

Jhn 19:26-27, “When Jesus then saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing nearby, He said to His mother: Woman, behold, your son! Then He said to the disciple: Behold, your mother! From that hour the disciple took her into his own household.” 

Note: At the last hour, Jesus Christ did not forget to provide care for His mother. A woman can be as dear as your own mother. If you have a chance, Behold your mother! Children of men, have you lately really paid attention to your mother? Behold your mother! Take a good look of your mother. See that what she needs. 

45.  Along with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus. 

Act 1:14, “These all with one mind were continually devoting themselves to prayer, along with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.” 

Note: Those who pray together must do so with one mind. After the resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ, this is the last time the Bible mentions Mary the mother of Jesus. Mary was the mother of Jesus because Mary was conceived by the Holy Spirit to give birth to Jesus. Mary is not the mother of God for God cannot have a mother. Interestingly, the half brothers of Jesus now had all become His believers and disciples. 

46.  Who had set me apart even from my mother’s womb. 

Gal 1:15 , “But when God, who had set me apart even from my mother's womb and called me through His grace, was pleased.” 

Note: Paul was set apart by God even from his mother’s womb and called him to be an apostle. There are people so special that God set them apart even from their mothers’ womb. Outside the Bible, I believe Martin Luther was one; John Bunyan was another, etc. I have not met or heard of any person in my life whom I believe God had set him/her apart even from his/her mother's womb even though I knew a great number of preachers personally.  I have met many unworthy ones.

47.  As a nursing mother tenderly cares for her own children. 

1Th 2:7, “But we proved to be gentle among you, as a nursing mother tenderly cares for her own children.” 

Note: Gentle in Greek is  ēpios  which means mild, affable; - it occurs only 2 times in the New Testament. To tenderly care in Greek is   thalpō which means  to cherish with tender love; - it occurs only 2 times in the New Testament.  A mother is supposed to give tender loving care (TLC) to her children. A babysitter who shook a crying baby violently that the baby died had committed a murder.  A mother who does not give tender loving care to her children is unworthy to be a mother. Parents who do not love children have no right to become parents. Tender loving care is only mother can give to her children. 

To be a good mother is more difficult than to be a successful chairman of the board, and may be worth more than the president of a corporation. A good mother must teach and train her child many things not just feeding, clothing and housing her child. Among the most important things are morality, virtue, obedience, respect for the elderly, responsibility, honesty, gratitude, cleanliness, good habits, etc. Teach your child to say: please, thank you, etc. Good habits include flushing the toilet, not to litter or spit, not to say bad and dirty word, etc. A mother has great impact on the life of her child more than she realizes. As a real illustration, a woman divorced her husband because of his infidelity. She told everybody how bad her husband was. Her 6-year-old son was so vexed and troubled by hearing bad things about his father so many times that he wanted to kill himself! 

48.  Which first dwelt in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice. 

2Ti 1:5 , “For I am mindful of the sincere faith within you, which first dwelt in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am sure that it is in you as well.” 

Note: Eunice was the mother of Timothy. Eunice in Greek is  eunikē which means good victory; - it occurs only once in the New Testament. A mother who has a son dedicated to the service of the Lord Jesus surely has a good victory. A mother who has a son committed a major crime is surely a failure. It bothers me when mother and grandmother defended her children or grandchildren who committed vicious crimes. Lois in Greek is  Lōïs  which means agreeable; - it occurs only once in the New Testament. A Christian matron is an agreeable person. It appears the sincere faith of godly mother and grandmother can have godly influence on her children and grandchildren, it is almost hereditary. A godly legacy is better than riches. A spiritual heritage is better than a great real estate. 

A good mother is worth more than a billion dollars. Dollar has devalued over the years, but the value of a good mother is forever. If you are a billionaire but you do not have a good mother, you do not know how poor you are. 

IN CONCLUSION

In the wisdom and lovingkindness of God the Almighty who predestined and prepared a godly mother for me and for which I am eternally grateful. 

This article is dedicated to the memory of my good mother who is with the Lord; she has been the greatest blessing to me.
I rise up to call her blessed.  

Pro 31:28-29, “Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all." 

I thank God for my mother, the most precious person to me. This article was written in memory of my mother. If your mother is still alive, treat her with the greatest respect and affection.

Jesus Christ at His last hour made preparation for His human mother.

母亲  

母亲是最亲密的一个人。婴儿第一次学会了说妈妈，比说爸爸之前。 

1. 因此人要离开父母与妻子连合，二人成为一体 

创世纪  2:24     ，“因 此， 人 要 离 开 父 母 与 妻 子 连 合， 二 人 成 为 一 体。” 

注解:“妈妈” 这个词在希伯莱语是    'em    ，这意味着母本; - 它发生在旧约大约220次。 因为一个男人要与他的妻子连合，所以他必须离开他的父亲和母亲。 甚至离开你的母亲，是一个与妻子连合必要的步骤。 这可能意味着它不利于年轻夫妇结婚后与父母同住。当一个男人与他的妻子结婚，他就不应该让他的母亲太多插手他与妻子之间的关系。一个男人与他的妻子连合，一生一世，是好是坏。一个母亲不应该在前进路上当绊脚石，阻碍她的儿子与他的妻子连合。

注解：幸福婚姻的秘密是：两个（一男一女）成为一体。 

马可福音 10:7-8    ，“ 因 此 人 要 离 开 父 母， 与 妻 子 连 合， 二 人 成 为 一 体。既 然 如 此，夫 妻 不 再 是 两 个 人， 乃 是 一 体 的 了。” 

注解：婚姻是有价值的事业, 值得男人和女人都献身给它。连合在希腊文是    proskollaō，    意思是胶黏，黏起来，跟一个密切连合，坚持; - 它只有在新约出现4次。 坚持一个妻子的概念，排除通奸或离婚。男子离开他的父亲和母亲，因为他将开始新的生活。 

以弗所书  5:31，“为 这 个 缘 故，人 要 离 开 父 母，与 妻 子 连 合，二 人 成 为 一 体。” 

注解：一个肉体意思最亲密的关系。婚姻是一个男女之间最亲密的关系。父母，留下你的儿子和女儿。不要干预他们婚姻的关系。一个男人和一个男人，一个女人和女人婚姻的观念是不自然的，违反圣经，属于恶魔，神所谴责的。因为起初神造男造女，创造夏娃为亚当的配偶。 

2. 她是众生之母 

创世纪  3:20     ，“亚 当 给 他 妻 子 起 名 叫 夏 娃， 因 为 她 是 众 生 之 母。” 

注解： “夏娃” 在希伯来文是    Chavvah    ，意味着第一个女人是众生之母; - 它只有4次出现在圣经中，在旧约2次，在新约2次。 每个人都是一个母亲所生的。 

提摩太前书  2:13     ，“因 为 先 造 的 是 亚 当，后 造 的 是 夏 娃。” 这经文可能不使女权主义者高兴，但那是这样。神先造亚当，后造夏娃。这就是秩序。 一个女人要带领她的丈夫或作家庭的户主是不会幸福的。凡是违反秩序的将不会有好结果。

哥林多后书  11:3     ，“我 只 怕 你 们 的 心 或 偏 于 邪， 失 去 那 向 基 督 所 存 纯 一 清 洁 的 心， 就 像 蛇 用 诡 诈 诱 惑 了 夏 娃 一 样。” 

注解：虽然圣经没有解释为什么，不知何故妇女更容易受骗或误入歧途。所有虔诚的妇女应警惕虚荣心。狡猾的魔鬼，他欺骗和引导人们引入歧途。凡是从纯粹和真诚奉献基督导致误入歧途是来自魔鬼的。 

3. 她也要作多国之母 

创世纪 17:16     ，“我 必 赐 福 给 她， 也 要 使 你 从 她 得 一 个 儿 子。 我 要 赐 福 给 她， 她 也 要 作 多 国 之 母。 必 有 百 姓 的 君 王 从 她 而 出。” 

创世纪 17:15     , “神 又 对 亚 伯 拉 罕 说， 你 的 妻 子 撒 莱， 不 可 再 叫 撒 莱， 她 的 名 要 叫 撒 拉。” 

注解： 亚伯拉罕的妻子叫撒莱，但神改她的名字为撒拉。 在希伯来语撒莱是    Saray,     这意味着公主，亚伯兰或亚伯拉罕妻子撒拉的原名; - 它在旧约发生大约17次。在希伯来文莎拉是    Sarah    ，这意味着一个贵妇人，一个贵族小姐; - 它在旧约发生大约38次。 在希腊文是    Sarra，    这意味着它是公主；- 它只有在新约出现4次。撒拉是一个公主，高贵的女士，在圣经和人类的历史其中一个最高贵的妇女。     罗马书 4:19       , “他 将 近 百 岁 的 时 候，虽 然 想 到 自 己 的 身 体 如 同 已 死，撒 拉 的 生 育 已 经 断 绝，他 的 信 心 还 是 不 软 弱。” 

注解：信仰不是迷信。亚伯拉罕考虑他将近100岁，他90高龄的妻子已不能生育（     创世纪17:17     ）；但是神的应许是强于任何情况。     罗马书9:9     ，“因 为 所 应 许 的 话 是 这 样 说，到 明 年 这 时 候 我 要 来，撒 拉 必 生 一 个 儿 子。” 有90岁的妇女怎么可能受孕？    希伯来书      11:11     ，“因 着 信， 连 撒 拉 自 己， 虽 然 过 了 生 育 的 岁 数， 还 能 怀 孕。 因 他 以 为 那 应 许 他 的 是 可 信 的。” 撒拉得着能力，因他以为那应许他的是可信的。撒拉是如何高尚？     彼得前书3:6     ，“就 如 撒 拉 听 从 亚 伯 拉 罕， 称 他 为 主。 你 们 若 行 善，不 因 恐 吓 而 害 怕， 便 是 撒 拉 的 女 儿 了。” 基督教妇女是撒拉的女儿，如果他们行善和服从自己的丈夫。不要被女权主义运动和人虚假的教义欺骗。 

4. 他将宝物送给她哥哥和她母亲 

创世纪 24:53     ，“当 下 仆 人 拿 出 金 器， 银 器， 和 衣 服 送 给 利 百 加， 又 将 宝 物 送 给 她 哥 哥 和 她 母 亲。” 

注解：即使在古代，要取妻子的家庭送有价值的礼物给女孩的母亲。在邪恶的文化男子杀死自己的妻子，使他们能够获得更多再婚的嫁妆。那些为给物质原因而嫁的是注定要失败和不幸。 

5.  以撒自从他母亲去世，这才得了安慰 

创世纪  24:67     , “以 撒 便 领 利 百 加 进 了 他 母 亲 撒 拉 的 帐 棚， 娶 了 她 为 妻， 并 且 爱 她。 以 撒 自 从 他 母 亲 不 在 了， 这 才 得 了 安 慰。” 

注解：一个人娶了一个妻子有责任爱她。如果你不爱这女人，你没有权利和她结婚。 母亲是母亲，妻子是妻子，他们有不同的角色。 希伯来语安慰是    nacham，    这意味着到安抚，有同情，怜悯显示; - 它在旧约发生大约108次。女人有这样的能力去安慰她的丈夫，是没有其他人能，也没有任何东西可以。一个男人需要女人的爱，正如一个女人需要一个男人的爱。当男人和女人彼此相爱，这是人间天堂，尽管在所有的麻烦。 

6. 他母亲对他说 

创世纪 27:13      , “ 他 母 亲 对 他 说， 我 儿， 你 招 的 咒 诅 归 到 我 身 上。 你 只 管 听 我 的 话， 去 把 羊 羔 给 我 拿 来。” 

注解：有多少人是听他们母亲错误的建议而毁的？一个放纵的母亲可能会导致她的孩子们做错。 

马可福音 6:14-29    。记得希罗底告诉她的女儿要施洗约翰的头，放在盘子里。母亲，不要让你做什么来诅咒你的孩子。儿女们不要听你母亲的命令去作恶。 

7. 童女就去叫了孩子的母亲来 

出埃及记 2:8     , “法 老 的 女 儿 说，可 以。 童 女 就 去 叫 了 孩 子 的 母 亲 来。” 

注解：神安排以便法老的女儿,支付摩西的母亲养育他自己的儿子。正如威廉考珀愉快的诗会说： 

神移动的方式神秘 
他来执行奇迹; 
他把他的脚步扎在海上， 
又乘骑暴风雨。 

8。打父母的必要把他治死 

出埃及记  21:15     ,“打 父 母 的，必 要 把 他 治 死。” 

注解：根据摩西的律法，打父母的是死罪。死刑是由神为某些罪行所创制的。谁反对死刑就是反对神的律法。谁反对神的律法就是反对神。 

9. 咒骂父母的必要把他治死 

出埃及记 21:17     , “咒 骂 父 母 的， 必 要 把 他 治 死。” 

注解：根据摩西的律法，咒骂父母的，必要把他治死。 

10. 不可用山羊羔母的奶煮山羊羔 

出埃及记 23:19     , “ 地 里 首 先 初 熟 之 物 要 送 到 耶 和 华 你 神 的 殿。不 可 用 山 羊 羔 母 的 奶 煮 山 羊 羔。” 

出埃及记 34:26     , “地 里 首 先 初 熟 之 物 要 送 到 耶 和 华 你 神 的 殿。 不 可 用 山 羊 羔 母 的 奶 煮 山 羊 羔。” 

注解：这禁令是基于类似的原因你不能与妇女和她的女儿行性交。 

利未记 20:14     ，“人 若 娶 妻，并 娶 其 母，便 是 大 恶，要 把 这 三 人 用 火 焚 烧，使 你 们 中 间 免 去 大 恶。” 

或类似的，你不可连母带雏一并取去。 

申命记 22:6      -7, “你 若 路 上 遇 见 鸟 窝， 或 在 树 上 或 在 地 上， 里 头 有 雏 或 有 蛋， 母 鸟 伏 在 雏 上 或 在 蛋 上， 你 不 可 连 母 带 雏 一 并 取 去。 总 要 放 母， 只 可 取 雏， 这 样 你 就 可 以 享 福， 日 子 得 以 长 久。” 

注解： 过分是有害的。贪婪是邪恶的。只可取雏，总要放母。 

11. 不可露你母亲的下体 

利未记 18:7     , “不 可 露 你 母 亲 的 下 体， 羞 辱 了 你 父 亲。 她 是 你 的 母 亲， 不 可 露 她 的 下 体。” 

注解：在裸体主义者阵营与家人裸体的做法显然是违反了这条诫命。 

12. 底波拉以色列的母亲 

士师记  5:7     , “ 以 色 列 中 的 官 长 停 职， 直 到 我 底 波 拉 兴 起， 等 我 兴 起 作 以 色 列 的 母。” 

注解：底波拉在希伯莱语是    Dĕbowrah    , 这意味着蜜蜂，黄蜂; - 它在旧约发生大约10次。底波拉是一位女先知，她是一个以色列的母亲, 是一个以色列敌人的黄蜂，因为她保护以色列人 。 

13. 他行这事并没有告诉他的父母 

士师记 14:6     , “耶 和 华 的 灵 大 大 感 动 参 孙 ， 他 虽 然 手 无 器 械 ， 却 将 狮 子 撕 裂 ， 如 同 撕 裂 山 羊 羔 一 样 。 他 行 这 事 并 没 有 告 诉 父 母 。” 

注解：成人可能不必告诉父母他们做什么。儿童因为缺乏判断力和知识，应该把一切告诉他们的父母。孩子不知道什么会伤害他们。孩子出生愚蠢。 

14. 你们各人回娘家去吧 

路得记 1:8       , “拿 俄 米 对 两 个 儿 妇 说， 你 们 各 人 回 娘 家 去 吧， 愿 耶 和 华 恩 待 你 们， 象 你 们 恩 待 已 死 的 人 与 我 一 样。” 

注解：路得是最美丽有福的故事，贤德和美丽的女人爱婆婆和受到婆婆的爱。从未有过这样一个充满爱的感人，和谐的婆婆和媳妇的关系。这是万代的模范。 有一个如同路得的媳妇，优于有七个儿子。有一个妻子像路得是比所罗门有一千妻子更好。 

15.  你如何离开你父母和本地 

路得记  2:11     ,“ 波 阿 斯 回 答 说， 自 从 你 丈 夫 死 后， 凡 你 向 婆 婆 所 行 的， 并 你 离 开 父 母 和 本 地， 到 素 不 认 识 的 民 中， 这 些 事 人 全 都 告 诉 我 了。” 

注解：一个年轻女子值得留下父亲和母亲去跟一个有价值的人结婚。路得成为救世主族谱的一部分。 

16。  他的母亲为他作一件小外袍 

撒母耳记上 2:19     , “他 母 亲 每 年 为 他 作 一 件 小 外 袍， 同 着 丈 夫 上 来 献 年 祭 的 时 候 带 来 给 他。” 

注解：哈拿是撒母耳的好母亲。 哈拿没有白活的将撒母耳归与耶和华。妈妈为她一个小男孩作一件小外袍不是不时髦？ 是的，她可以从商店购买。 但是，也有很多事情一个母亲可以为她的儿女做不能买来。母亲的接触是金钱买不到。 

17。 容我父母搬来，住在你们这里 

撒母耳记上 22:3     , “大 卫 从 那 里 往 摩 押 的 米 斯 巴 去， 对 摩 押 王 说， 求 你 容 我 父 母 搬 来， 住 在 你 们 这 里， 等 我 知 道 神 要 为 我 怎 样 行 。” 

注解：大卫是孝顺父母的，甚至在他最困难的时候，他为他的父母按排。耶稣在十字架上最后的时刻为他的母亲马利亚按排。 

18. 请母亲说，我必不推辞 

列王记上 2:20     , “ 拔 示 巴 说， 我 有 一 件 小 事 求 你， 望 你 不 要 推 辞。王 说，请 母 亲 说，我 必 不 推 辞。” 

注解：如果你能满足你母亲的请求，只要她的要求是理所当然, 这是美好的。你母亲还活着的时候应该很好地对待她。 

19. 这妇人实在是他的母亲 

列王记上 3:27      , “ 王 说，将 活 孩 子 给 这 妇 人，万 不 可 杀 他。 这 妇 人 实 在 是 他 的 母 亲。” 

注解：所罗门的智慧判定真正的母亲不会杀死她的孩子。 

20. 孩子坐在母亲的膝上 

列王记下 4:20     , “ 仆 人 抱 去， 交 给 他 母 亲。 孩 子 坐 在 母 亲 的 膝 上， 到 晌 午 就 死 了。” 

注解：多么动人的场面，看到一个男孩坐在他母亲的怀里而死去！ 

21. 他母亲给他主谋使他行恶 

历代志下 22:3     , “亚 哈 谢 也 行 亚 哈 家 的 道。 因 为 他 母 亲 给 他 主 谋，使 他 行 恶。” 

注解：亚哈谢在犹大作王，他母亲亚他利雅劝他作恶毁灭了他。您听说过某蒙羞的政治家臭名昭著邪恶和欺诈舞弊的妻子，规劝她全家，亲戚朋友行恶欺诈。 

22. 我赤身出于母胎 

约伯记 1:21     , “说，我 赤 身 出 于 母 胎， 也 必 赤 身 归 回。 赏 赐 的 是 耶 和 华， 收 取 的 也 是 耶 和 华。 耶 和 华 的 名 是 应 当 称 颂 的。” 

比照。     传道书5:15     ，“他 怎 样 从 母 胎 赤 身 而 来， 也 必 照 样 赤 身 而 去。 他 所 劳 碌 得 来 的。 手 中 分 毫 不 能 带 去。” 

注解：约伯提出了一句真理名言：我 赤 身 出 于 母 胎， 也 必 赤 身 归 回。 

可悲的是，这么多的腐败政客，自我服务的官员，弯曲的企业经理人员, 和贪婪的资本家没有学到这个真理。 他们的行为犹如可以把他们所有骗来的携带到他们的葬礼。有些人甚至认为他们出生就有银汤匙在他们的口中！ 

23. 我在母怀里你让我感到安全 

诗篇  22:9     , “但 你 是 叫 我 出 母 腹 的。 我 在 母 怀 里， 你 就 使 我 有 倚 靠 的 心。” 

注解：如果你知道一些关于产科，你知道有很多事情都可能出错：在怀孕期间，分娩和产后。孩子安然无恙出生是一个奇迹。 

24. 如同人为母亲哀痛 

诗篇  35:14      , “我 这 样 行，好 像 他 是 我 的 朋 友，我 的 弟 兄。 我 屈 身 悲 哀，如 同 人 为 母 亲 哀 痛。” 

注解：虽然在我的心灵我知道，我的母亲年纪老迈，如果她随时死去不会是一个吃惊; 但她去世时我哭了，为我妈妈悲哀，从来没有哭或哀悼过。 

25. 在我母亲怀胎的时候就有了罪 

诗篇  51:5      , “我 是 在 罪 孽 里 生 的。 在 我 母 亲 怀 胎 的 时 候， 就 有 了 罪。” 

注解：这并不意味着丈夫和妻子发生性关系是有罪的。一个女人所生的是在罪孽里生的。无论是原罪或人本身罪或两者兼而有之，每个人都是有罪的。唯独一个人没有罪过的是耶稣基督，神的儿子，因马利亚所怀的孕是从圣灵来的。   

26. 他使不能生育的妇人为多子的乐母 

诗篇 113:9     ，“他 使 不 能 生 育 的 妇 人 安 居 家 中， 为 多 子 的 乐 母。 你 们 要 赞 美 耶 和 华。” 

注解：一个男人或一个不能生育的女人，不知道什么是一个有孩子欢乐的母亲。 

做母亲的喜乐使一个女人完整。有一个坏儿子或坏女儿的悲哀是难以承受的。 

27. 好像断过奶的孩子在他母亲的怀中 

诗篇 131:2     , “我 的 心 平 稳 安 静，好 像 断 过 奶 的 孩 子 在 他 母 亲 的 怀 中。我 的 心 在 我 里 面 真 像 断 过 奶 的 孩 子。” 

注解：没有理想或田园诗般的画面，比一个断奶的孩子在他母亲的怀中休息。它是人类在其最好的。 

28. 不要离弃你母亲的教诲 

箴言  1:8     , “ 我 儿， 要 听 你 父 亲 的 训 诲， 不 可 离 弃 你 母 亲 的 法 则。（ 或 作 指 教 ）” 

比照 :      箴言 6:20      , “我 儿， 要 谨 守 你 父 亲 的 诫 命， 不 可 离 弃 你 母 亲 的 法 则。 （ 或 作 指 教 ）”。 

注解：孟子母亲的法则造出伟大的哲学家和老师孟子。 

29. 愚昧之子叫母亲担忧 

箴言 10:1      , “所 罗 门 的 箴 言。 智 慧 之 子， 使 父 亲 欢 乐。 愚 昧 之 子， 叫 母 亲 担 忧。” 

注解：所有愚蠢的儿子，抽烟，喝酒，吸毒，与妓女或坏妇女性交，任意放荡，浪 费赀财，让他们的母亲悲痛。 今日的世界是多么邪恶，有母亲乐意出售自己的女儿为妓女，自己的儿子为骗子和罪犯，只要他们有钱。 

30. 愚昧人藐视母亲 

箴言  15:20      ,“智 慧 子 使 父 亲 喜 乐。 愚 昧 人 藐 视 母 亲。” 

注解：如果你鄙视你的母亲，你必须是一个愚蠢的人。 

31. 撵出母亲的是贻羞致辱之子 

箴言  19:26     , “虐 待 父 亲， 撵 出 母 亲 的， 是 贻 羞 致 辱 之 子.” 

注解：虐待你的父母是最可耻不光彩的行为。 

32. 咒骂父母的他的灯必灭，变为漆黑的黑暗 

箴言 20:20     , “咒 骂 父 母 的， 他 的 灯 必 灭， 变 为 漆 黑 的 黑 暗。” 

比照。     箴言  30:11     , “有 一 宗 人，咒 诅 父 亲，不 给 母 亲 祝 福。” 

注解：当一个人诅咒他的父亲或母亲，黑暗和可怕的事情会发生在他身上。 

33. 你母亲老了也不可藐视她 

箴言  23:22     , “你 要 听 从 生 你 的 父 亲。 你 母 亲 老 了， 也 不 可 藐 视 她。” 

注解：当你母亲老了，你瞧不起她是残酷和忘恩负义的。母亲年老时，儿女应该采取特殊照顾他们。 

34. 你要使父母欢喜 

箴言 23:25     , “你 要 使 父 母 欢 喜。 使 生 你 的 快 乐。” 

注解：孝敬父母就是使他们感到高兴。如果你成为一个重要或有用的人，你的父亲和母亲会很欢喜快乐。如果你实现一些伟大的事情，你的母亲将欢欣，为你感到骄傲。有些母亲是太糟糕，因为他们所说所做，阻碍和挑衅他们的子女。 

35. 放纵的儿子使母亲羞愧 

箴言 29:15     , “杖 打 和 责 备， 能 加 增 智 慧。 放 纵 的 儿 子，使 母 亲 羞 愧。” 

注解：愚蠢的母亲认为他们的工作，就是让他们的孩子随心所欲。他们没有意识到，一个没有受过管教的孩子是母亲的耻辱，毁了孩子的未来。 

36. 母亲怎样，女儿也怎样 

以西结书  16:44     , “凡 说 俗 语 的 必 用 俗 语 攻 击 你, 说，母 亲 怎 样， 女 儿 也 怎 样。” 

注解：这不仅是一个有力的宣言，这是一个惊人的事实。糟糕的母亲很可能有一个坏女儿。一个肮脏的母亲不知道如何教养清洁和体面的女儿。 

37. 看见小孩子和他母亲马利亚 

马太福音 2:11     , “进 了 房 子， 看 见 小 孩 子 和 他 母 亲 马 利 亚， 就 俯 伏 拜 那 小 孩 子， 揭 开 宝 盒， 拿 黄 金， 乳 香， 没 药 为 礼 物 献 给 他。” 

注解：东方的博士崇拜那小孩子就是耶稣，不是他母亲马利亚。天主教教会可跟东方的博士学智慧。母亲希腊文是    mētēr，    这意味着在一个母本; - 它发生在新约大约85次。通常母亲是大于孩子的。你注意到在耶稣的案件有什么不同？来自东方的博士俯伏在地上，崇拜儿童耶稣，而不是他的母亲玛利亚。聪明人也把他们的礼物黄金，乳香，没药献给儿童耶稣。为什么呢，因为耶稣是神的儿子。马利亚知道，她是由圣灵感孕。罗马天主教教会教导陷害人的异端，把马利亚当作是神和人之间的调停人。显然，天主教领导人并不像东方的博士有智慧。 

38. 凡遵行神旨意的人，就是我的弟兄姐妹和母亲了 

马太福音 12:50      , “凡 遵 行 我 天 父 旨 意 的 人， 就 是 我 的 弟 兄 姐 妹 和 母 亲 了。” 

比照。     马可福音3:35      , “凡 遵 行 神 旨 意 的 人， 就 是 我 的 弟 兄 姐 妹 和 母 亲 了。" 

路加福音 8:21    , “耶 稣 回 答 说， 听 了 神 之 道 而 遵 行 的 人， 就 是 我 的 母 亲，我 的 弟 兄 了。" 

注解：对于主耶稣基督，那些听众神的话语的人就是他亲爱的兄弟姐妹和母亲。 

属灵的关系取代了人与人之间的关系。 

39. 女儿被母亲所使 

马太福音 14:8     , “女 儿 被 母 亲 所 使， 就 说， 请 把 施 洗 约 翰 的 头， 放 在 盘 子 里 拿 来 给 我。” 

注解：希罗底的女儿是受到她母亲的指使，要施洗约翰的头放在盘子里。看看如何奸淫和邪恶的母亲可能会导致她的孩子们作恶。没有母亲比有一个邪恶的母亲好。 

40.孝敬你父亲和你母亲 

马太福音 15:4      -6    , “神 说， 当 孝 敬 父 母。 又 说， 咒 骂 父 母 的， 必 治 死 他。 你 们 倒 说， 无 论 何 人 对 父 母 说， 我 所 当 奉 给 你 的， 已 经 作 了 供 献。 他 就 可 以 不 孝 敬 父 母。 这 就 是 你 们 借 着 遗 传， 废 了 神 的 诫 命。” 

注解：违反神话语的遗传是错误的遗传，应该被丢弃。 

出埃及记 20:12     , "当 孝 敬 父 母， 使 你 的 日 子 在 耶 和 华 你 神 所 赐 你 的 地 上 得 以 长 久。” 

注解：本经文的应许显然是给亚伯拉罕的子孙。 

申命记  5:16     , “当 照 耶 和 华 你 神 所 吩 咐 的 孝 敬 父 母， 使 你 得 福， 并 使 你 的 日 子 在 耶 和 华 你 神 所 赐 你 的 地 上 得 以 长 久。” 

马太福音 19:19     , “当 孝 敬 父 母。又 当 爱 人 如 己。" 

马可福音 7:10     , “摩 西 说， 当 孝 敬 父 母。 又 说， 咒 骂 父 母 的， 必 治 死 他。” 

以弗所书 6:2     ，“要 孝 敬 父 母，使 你 得 福，在 世 长 寿。这 是 第 一 条 带 应 许 的 诫 命。” 

注解：这是第五条带有应许的诫命。人类的遗传通常是反对神的话语。基督徒不能为人类遗传的缘故否定神的话语。例如，中国人崇拜祖先是一个传统。一个中国的基督徒不能遵循这一传统。拜偶像或崇拜祖先冒犯永生的神。当然，这经文包括所有的信徒，亚伯拉罕的子孙，得到在世长寿的应许。中国的文明，讲孝道是接近圣经教学履行孝敬父母。希伯来语中孝敬是    kabad，    这意味着要光荣，荣耀，荣幸地做; - 它在旧约发生大约116次。这是十诫中一条带应许的诫命，给于孝敬父母的人一个长寿的承诺。 

41. 西庇太儿子的母亲来拜耶稣要求一件事

约翰福音 2:5     , “他 母 亲 对 用 人 说， 他 告 诉 你 们 什 么， 你 们 就 作 什 么。” 

注解：马利亚没有写任何新约的书，但她对用人的忠告是不朽的。我们必须作尽一切神说的。无论神对你说什么，你就作什么。 

43. 站在耶稣十字架旁边的有他母亲 

约翰福音 19:25     , “站 在 耶 稣 十 字 架 旁 边 的， 有 他 母 亲， 与 他 母 亲 的 姊 妹， 并 革 罗 吧 的 妻 子 马 利 亚， 和 抹 大 拉 的 马 利 亚。” 

注解：有三个不朽的马利亚：耶稣的母亲马利亚，革罗吧的妻子马利亚，和抹大 拉的马利亚。这是一件好事，如果你的母亲站在你旁边，即使整个世界误解你。当您遇到了麻烦，有人站在你旁边是不容易的。这并不意味着母亲应该支持她儿子的犯罪或罪恶。这是一个耻辱你经常在美国听到许多母亲说：我的孩子或我的女孩是个不错的人，当他们事实上犯谋杀罪或残暴的罪行。 

44. 看你的母亲 

约翰福音 19:26      -27    , “ 耶 稣 见 母 亲 和 他 所 爱 的 那 门 徒 站 在 旁 边， 就 对 他 母 亲 说， 母 亲 （ 原 文 作 妇 人 ）， 看 你 的 儿 子。 19:27  又 对 那 门 徒 说， 看 你 的 母 亲。 从 此 那 门 徒 就 接 她 到 自 己 家 里 去 了。” 

注解：在最后时刻，耶稣基督没有忘记为他母亲提供照顾。一个妇人可以作为自己亲爱的母亲。如果你有一个机会，看，你的母亲！ 

45. 几个妇人和耶稣的母亲马利亚 

使徒行传  1:14     , “这 些 人， 同 着 几 个 妇 人， 和 耶 稣 的 母 亲 马 利 亚， 并 耶 稣 的 弟 兄， 都 同 心 合 意 地 恒 切 祷 告。” 

注解：一起祈祷的人一定要同心合意。耶稣基督复活后升天，这是圣经最后一次提到耶稣的母亲玛利亚。有趣的是，耶稣的半弟兄现在都成为他的信徒。 

46. 神把我从母腹里分别出来 

加拉太 1:15     ，“然 而 那 把 我 从 母 腹 里 分 别 出 来， 又 施 恩 召 我 的 神,” 

注解：神甚至把保罗从他母腹里分别出来，又施恩召他作使徒。有些人很特殊，所以神把他们甚至从他们母腹里分别出来。在圣经以外，我相信马丁路德是一个，另一个是约翰班扬等等。   

47. 存心温柔如同母亲乳养自己的孩子 

帖撒罗尼迦前书 2:7     ，“只 在 你 们 中 间 存 心 温 柔， 如 同 母 亲 乳 养 自 己 的 孩 子。”
